Our Prices: Fran-San German Shepherd puppies are normally price $900. to $1100. each depending on quality of each puppy. All puppies will have Full AKC Registration and can be used for Showing in Conformation, Breeding, Obedience or as a family companion. All our puppies will have outstanding temperament and character as well when they become adult if not being mistreated or abuse. Will be very safe for family with kids, babies and all your friends, but may or should barks at strangers that come up in your yard or at your door. All puppies and adults from our kennel will be black and tan/red in color with some being lighter or darker than other. From time to time we have older Puppy or Dog available. The pricing is determined by age and level of quality. We're sorry, but we no longer ship any puppies by air freight, as we feel it's too hard on the puppies. Also, at certain time of the year, there are problems getting a puppy shipped. The airlines won't ship the puppy if the weather is too hot or cold. We prefer to sell our puppies more or less local or less than 200 miles from our home town of Raleigh, NC.Please Note: We no longer accept any personal checks because of our past devastating experiences. When it's time to pick up any of our puppies, we will only accept cash or certified check. As for the $200. deposit, we also prefer cash or certified check.
What We're Offering:All of our puppies are guaranteed in writing to be in good health for seven days after they leave our kennel. In the event the dog should become lame as a result of hip dysplasia or x-ray severe on or before two years old, the seller will replace the dog with another puppy of equal value. It is very common for your German Shepherd puppy or young adult to become lame as result of Pano - Panosteitis. This is not to be confused with hip or elbow dysplasia as Pano is only temporary. All puppies will be up-to-date on all shots and de-wormed. Fran-San GSD will furnish the A.K.C. Registration papers, a Sales Contract, a five-generation pedigree, a picture of the sire and dam, and a complete starter kit on all puppies, including an (8) pound bag of Eukanuba puppy food. Please click on the About Us section for more information on our puppies and adults. Choosing A Veterinarian: Choosing a good knowledgeable Veterinarian is very important, It could mean the difference between life and death of your puppy or dog. I highly recommend a good Veterinarian that owned and operated his own Animal Hospital. When serious circumstances occur, what ever the Vet diagnosis may be, always get a second and third opinion from another Veterinary Hospital.
Reserve a Puppy! If at any time we do not have any puppies available for sale, we can put you on our WAITING LIST. You will be contacted after the puppies are BORN, and will have the option to reserve a puppy.
A deposit of $200.00 is required to reserve a puppy. The deposit goes toward the price of the puppy. To determine which puppy goes to whom: When the puppies are old enough ( 7 to 8 weeks of age ) to place into a new home, we schedule each customer for an appointment to pick up their puppy in the order which we received the deposit. If some unexpected thing happens on the part of the breeder, Fran-San GSD will refund the full deposit or add the deposit to our next litter, if you choose to do so. If the buyer for what ever reason decides he or she no longer wants a puppy from Fran-San GSD will loose their $200.00 deposit unless the puppy of there picked is not up to our standards.
Please Note: If you already have a dog of any breed always get an opposite sex dog for better more loving companionship. Some dogs of the same sex if they come in contact with one another may or could lead to a serious dog fight. If this is the case, you must keep your dogs of the same sex separately in a different kennel.
Another fact, It's highly recommend to socialize your puppy by taking it out in public places on a leash where other dogs are at least once a week. Some good places to go would be such as dog shows, obedience training classes or your local dog club meeting. If this is not possible, take your puppy out to a ball park or other places where people are gathered and let them pat or rub your puppy.
We Believe good character and sound temperament are just as important to the overall dog as beautiful conformation and all the other features. The German Shepherd should be approachable, quietly standing its ground and showing confidence, not shy nor overly aggressive. A dog that shrinks behind its owner, or shows signs of being a fear-biter is a very serious fault that comes from bad breeding, or lack of socialization. In many cases, a good sound temperament dog can be destroyed by bad discipline, such as hand-beating or whipping with some other object.
How To Care For Your Puppy: Before our puppies leave our kennel, they would have been De-Wormed several times and had their combination + coronavirus vaccine shot at 6 weeks old. If the puppy leaves our kennel at 8 weeks old, it is going to need another combination vaccine shot at 9 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks old. At 16 weeks old they will need their rabies vaccine shot which is good for one year, then every 3 years by laws. De-Worming your puppy or adult is very important. Have your veterinarian to do the Fecal Examination regularly.
Please Note: After the puppy leaves our premises, you are responsible for your puppy well being. Any issue that is caused by poor care is easily determined. Poor care comes in many forms, including lack of knowledge of proper care. Poor health in general can be caused by cheap dog food (OI Roy, Sunshine chunks, etc) causing diarrhea and dull coats & eyes. It's important not to get your puppy overweight as it may cause stress to the bone & joints, keep your pup lean. You should be able to see the first 2 ribs. Your puppy or adult after playing or exercising should rest 45 minutes before & after eating. Bloat can occur from playing or exercising right before and after eating food.Another Important Matter: Always use the more expensive super premium dry dog foods such as Eukanuba, Imas, Pro Plan, Purina One, Bil-Jac for better health condition. The cheaper dog foods are less digestible and the dog will need twice the amount of dog food to get the same amount of nutrition which will result in more stool and loose stool to clean up. When changing dog food do it gradually over a period of 10 days by starting with 10% of new 90% old, 20% new 80% old and so on to prevent having loose stool.
We do not recommend any kind of can dog foods for your German Shepherd Dog. DO NOT feed Table Scraps ( food for humans ) on a regular basis as it will cause diarrhea, weight lost, hair lost and dull coats.
Want to have some fun with your puppy as well as when he becomes an adult. Showing dogs in conformation is a great sport where the thrill of competition is combined with the joy of seeing your dog winning. The word conformation means structure, shape, and outline according to breed standard. You best source to a beautiful well bred German Shepherd or any other breed of dogs is to find a good breeder that is a member of their local and national breed club. Better yet if at all possible, join your local German Shepherd Dog Club. We do have a German Shepherd Dog Club here in Raleigh, NC. If you would like to join our Club the address is: Millbrook Exchange Park, 1905 Spring Forest Road, Raleigh, NC. The club meeting is the first Wednesday of each month with socialization at 7:00 PM and the program / business meeting starting at 7:30 PM. If you already have a German Shepherd Dog, be sure to bring it with you to our meeting. Our Club web site is www.gsdcofgrraleigh.org. Be Sure To
